The Elite Clubs Regional League (ECRL) is a competitive soccer league designed as a regional extension of the ECNL (Elite Clubs National League). It provides a high-level playing environment for talented players while keeping travel demands more manageable than the ECNL’s national structure.

The ECRL allows clubs to develop more players within the ECNL framework, offering a strong competitive pathway for those striving to reach the highest levels of youth soccer.

Why the ECRL?

The ECRL was created to expand access to ECNL-level soccer while keeping a regional focus. The league offers:

High-Level Competition – Teams face strong opponents within their region.
College Exposure – ECRL players gain recruitment opportunities through ECNL showcases and events.
Pathway to ECNL – Players can be promoted to full ECNL rosters within their club.
Reduced Travel – More local and regional play compared to the national ECNL league.

Who Plays in the ECRL – Girls?

The ECRL is designed for U13 to U19 age groups, offering a competitive experience for players looking to develop within the ECNL system. It allows clubs to field strong second teams that remain highly competitive without the full national travel requirements of the ECNL and at a lower level than The ECNL.

Competition Format

ECRL teams compete regionally against other top clubs in structured league play. The best teams qualify for postseason events and ECNL showcases, where they gain additional exposure and experience.

ECRL Showcases & College Recruitment

ECRL players can participate in ECNL College Showcases, where they compete in front of college scouts from NCAA, NAIA, and junior colleges. Many ECRL players advance to ECNL teams within their club, increasing their exposure to top-level college recruiters.

Is ECRL Right for Your Player?

ECRL is a great fit for players who want:
A highly competitive environment for players not yet ready for The ECNL or Girls Academy
A chance to move up to an ECNL roster within their club.
College recruitment opportunities through showcases and strong competition.

How to Join an ECRL Team?

Most ECRL clubs hold tryouts in the spring, and players are selected based on skill level, commitment, and potential for development. Players interested in ECRL should look for clubs with ECNL-affiliated programs.
